Brolley’s second major endorsement of the year – earlier he earned the support of the AFL-CIO.
Montgomery, IL – The Brolley for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of the Illinois Democratic County Chair’s Association (IDCCA). Coming just days after the AFL-CIO also gave Brolley their endorsement, this continues the Brolley campaign’s momentum.
“We have no doubt that Matt will fight for the middle class, because that’s where he’s from” said Doug House, IDCCA President. “Matt has been a successful mayor and has shown that he can take the fight to, and beat, Randy Hultgren.”
Brolley won the endorsement over six other Democrats who are competing in the primary.
“I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the ILDCCA,” said Brolley. “We share the values of fighting for middle class jobs, health care for all, and a cleaner environment. Congressman Hultgren has been on the wrong side of every single one of those issues, and I look forward to taking the fight to him in November.”
The ILDCCA is a statewide, grassroots Democratic political organization made up of the elected Democratic County Chairmen in all 102 counties in Illinois. The mission of the IDCCA is to help elect Democrats in each county while continuing to grow the Democratic Party in the State of Illinois.
“Congressman Hultgren has shown he is no friend of the middle class,” House said. “He voted to take away health care for millions so he could give huge tax cuts to the wealthy and big corporations. It’s time for a Congressman who will put Illinois families first. And Matt Brolley is that person.”
