Brolley Earns Endorsement of AFL-CIO

Powerful union with nearly 900,000 members in Illinois cites Brolley’s commitment to middle class.

Montgomery, IL – The Brolley for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, the largest and most influential labor organization in the state. With several Democratic challengers to GOP Congressman Randy Hultgren, this endorsement shows Brolley’s continuing momentum.

“Matt has an understanding of the challenges working families and labor face today, because he comes from the middle class. And he has backed up his rhetoric with action as the Mayor of Montgomery,” said Michael T. Carrigan, President of the Illinois AFL-CIO.  “The working families of the 14th Congressional District deserve real representation in Washington. We’re proud to endorse him for Congress.”

Brolley won the endorsement over six other Democrats who are competing in the primary.

“This endorsement means so much to me, because helping the middle class is the focus of my public service,” said Brolley. “The middle class needs lower taxes and better jobs – and that’s what I will fight for as Congressman.”
